Scoring 31 more points than your opponent over the course of a game is generally considered a very good night in most sports. But scoring 31-straight points in an NBA game like the Toronto Raptors did in their 139-87 win over the Orlando Magic is almost unheard of.
The win wasn’t just an emphatic message sent to the rest of the NBA – with no Raptor scoring more than RJ Barrett’s 24 and star Scottie Barnes dishing out career-best 15 assists to go with 23 points of his own – it also got them a bit more breathing room from teams like Orlando who are looking to escape the NBA Play-In Tournament.
Now in his fifth NBA season out of Florida State, Barnes is averaging 18.6 rebounds, 7.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists-per-game.
