Trey Hendrickson doubles down on Maxx Crosby story

The Baltimore Ravens‘ decision to back out of their trade to acquire Maxx Crosby raised plenty of eyebrows around the National Football League.

To some, it looked like a classic case of buyer’s remorse, given that it was public knowledge that Crosby had undergone a minor procedure on his knee.

The Ravens, however, claimed that they actually wanted to trade for him and also sign Trey Hendrickson, whom they signed just hours after the trade fell through. Fans were skeptical about that narrative, but it might actually be true.

Making an appearance on Terron Armstead’s “The Set” podcast, Hendrickson seemed to confirm the theory.

“I was looking forward to rushing with him,” Hendrickson said. “Like what an incredible opportunity that would have been to have a bookends like that terrorizing quarterbacks, getting running backs to the ground. That’s what got me excited.”

That said, the timing doesn’t fully add up. Hendrickson’s market was being slow and quiet, and the fact that the Ravens gave him a slightly bigger deal to sign him just hours after the news broke of the failed trade made it all look fishy.

It’s hard to believe they would’ve had the resources to have both Hendrickson and Crosby on the same defense, as much as new head coach Jesse Minter would’ve loved that.

Whatever the case, that’s all water under the bridge now. Crosby is back in Las Vegas, and Hendrickson will continue to haunt AFC North quarterbacks, this time for another franchise.
