Dallas Mavericks veteran point guard Kyrie Irving hasn’t played yet this season as he’s recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last March.

The nearly-34 year old has been working to return, but with the Mavericks at 19-35 and unlikely to make noise in the Western Conference this season, Irving and the Mavs will make absolutely sure he’s ready to return to the hardwood.

“The decision wasn’t easy, but it’s the right one,” Irving said in a statement.

“I am looking forward to coming back stronger next season. The belief and drive I have inside only grows. And I wanted to send a huge shoutout to ALL of my brothers and sisters out there who’ve torn their ACL or gotten injured doing what they love to do every day. THANK YOU for the inspiration. No fear!”

Before his injury last season, Irving was averaging 24.7 points and 4.6 assists-per-game and was selected to his first All-Star weekend since 2022-23 with Brooklyn.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Irving is one of 22 players in NBA history to be selected first-overall in the NBA Draft and then win Rookie of the Year, but his teammate Cooper Flagg has a chance to make it 23 this season. With that being said, how many of those players can you name in five minutes?

    Good luck!
