Two teams could pursue LeBron James in the offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers might be bracing themselves to lose LeBron James.

They have two building blocks in Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, and with James set to become a free agent, a return seems unlikely.

Considering that, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst is keeping an eye on his next move and what he’s hearing about teams that might be interested in his services. Talking on “The Rich Eisen Show,” Windhorst revealed that the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are his two strongest suitors.

Cavs, Warriors leading the race to sign LeBron James

“Cleveland is one of them. I’m not sure I’d put the Heat on the list. Golden State depending on how things go would be one. There’s a place of two that I won’t say right now that I’m keeping my eye on,” Windhorst said. “I have a team or two that I think he could consider going to and I have researched the concept and I will continue to keep my eye on the concept.”

Heading back to Cleveland would probably make the most sense for James. Riding into the sunset where it all began would be a full-circle moment for his cinematic career.

As for the Warriors, watching him team up with his nemesis, Stephen Curry, would be an odd sight, but it would also be a treat for the fans. Given his close ties to Draymond Green, a fellow Klutch Sports athlete, and his previous experience with Curry in the Olympics, it’s not that far-fetched.
