Robert Irwin is fresh off his “Dancing With the Stars” win in November 2025, and now, the conservationist is sharing his thoughts about joining another reality TV franchise.

There have been speculations about Irwin being the next “Bachelor,” which were fueled by fan interest and online chatter. Interestingly, Irwin is not closed off to the idea.

On February 7, Entertainment Tonight caught up with Irwin to ask a few questions, one of which was whether he was open to being part of another reality show, specifically “The Bachelor.”

In response, the 22-year-old said, “Never say never. I’m in this realm right now where I’m like, never say never… It’s a strange world. Anything could happen.”

That wasn’t the first time Irwin was asked about “The Bachelor.” Back in October 2025, he was also asked the same question while on the set of “Dancing With the Stars.” Irwin laughed in response, adding, “Stranger things have happened. Who knows? We’ll see.”

    Robert Irwin’s Fans Are Divided

Fans appear divided on the idea of Irwin taking on the role of the next “Bachelor.” While some cited that his charm and good looks would do well in the show, others think that the dating show isn’t the best fit for him.

“He’s a likable young fella, definitely can capture the attention of audiences again,” one wrote. Another commented, “I wanna see him on the Bachelor!!!” Another user wrote, “I have and would never watch a Bachelor season… UNLESS he was the Bachelor.”

Others, however, are against it. “Don’t do The Bachelor. You don’t need it. Too much cheap emotions and false situations,” one pleaded. “DO NOT GO on The Bachelor!! Those couples never work out. Find your person, the old-fashioned way, like your mom and sister,” another user commented.

The Conservationist Followed In Her Sister’s Footsteps

In November 2025, Irwin won the coveted Mirrorball Trophy on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34. It was a momentous occasion for the Irwins, as the achievement came a decade after his sister, Bindi, won in season 21.

As The Blast previously reported, Irwin was ecstatic about having had the opportunity to bring attention to his family’s conservation work, just as his sister did. “To follow in those footsteps and to do the same has meant everything to me. This has absolutely changed my life,” he said after winning.

Bindi also celebrated her brother’s win, even posting an Instagram photo of the two of them holding their trophies. “TWO MIRRORBALLS NOW CALL AUSTRALIA ZOO HOME!” she captioned the post.

Robert Irwin Said His Life Is ‘Boring’

In the same interview with Entertainment Tonight, Irwin said it was quite unbelievable that fans want him to be on “The Bachelor,” adding that being an animal conservationist is “very different” from some of the things that are being said about him.

Additionally, Irwin said his life is “a lot more boring than you might think.” Aside from protecting wildlife, he is also a wildlife photographer. He has dedicated his life to working at the Australia Zoo, participating in demonstrations, and imparting his vast knowledge about crocodiles.

Irwin was exposed to wildlife conservation at a young age due to his parents, Steve and Terri Irwin, who were both passionate about wildlife. Irwin was just 2 years old when his father died of a stingray barb to the chest in 2006.

Despite his young age, Irwin told People that he knows what he wants in a life partner, as he has the “perfect” examples in his parents, as well as his sister, who is married to former professional wakeboarder-turned-conservationist Chandler Powell.

“My mom and dad met when she was this American tourist coming over to Australia, and that’s also how my sister met her husband. I’ve been saying, ‘When is that going to happen for me?!’ I’m still waiting for it. That American tourist is not quite lined up,” he shared.

Irwin will be appearing on select dates for the “Dancing with the Stars: Live!” tour in April.
