You couldn’t ask for a better backdrop.

The 2026 Winter Games in Italy — spread out across four locations — are set against breathtaking views of the Dolomites and the Alps, with clear blue skies and snow-topped peaks. The foregrounds of these images can be equally stunning: bundled-up athletes jumping, spinning, flipping and, yes, sometimes crashing to the pure white powder below.

Our photographers will also take you indoors, where artistry (figure skating) meets aggression (hockey) meets whatever adjective you’d like to use to describe curling. These are what will become the lasting, iconic images of the Milan-Cortina Olympics. Enjoy!
