Giants CEO calls Dodgers a ‘dragon to slay’

Despite having a quiet offseason, the San Francisco Giants have made moves to better their roster, with the latest being signing Luis Arraez to a one-year contract ($12 million) to be their second baseman.

The Giants have been in a rut for the past few seasons, finishing around .500 since 2022, and have not had a winning season since 2021 (107-55). Having a decent pitching staff (17th, 4.10 ERA) and a worse offense (.235 team average), the Giants offer the best chance, next to the San Diego Padres, to take down the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers. Giants president and CEO Larry Baer called the Dodgers a “dragon to slay.”
