Carmen Electra Reveals Tattoo Inspiration Involving Grudges

Carmen Electra wants the world to know what she dealt with in the past just by looking at her.

Inspiration could be drawn from several sources: memorable times, lovers, pets, and many more, but for the entertainer, it’s people who have ill feelings towards her. Her message in the ink is simple, but its placement on her body carries weight.

As with many others, Carmen Electra has experienced a fair share of life struggles before rising to fame. She previously detailed her ordeals, reflecting on the positive outcomes and how every situation shaped her into the star she’s become.

Electra recently got inked on her back to send a message to anyone with bad intentions towards her. She shared the inspiration behind the design, which features a pair of praying hands and a rosary.

She disclosed her recent liking for tattoos while attending Steven Tyler’s 7th Annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday, February 1. The actress also showed off her newest collection additions on her forearms.

Speaking to PEOPLE, she opened up about the back tattoo, saying that she got it because she had been stabbed in the back many times. Because of the betrayal she’s experienced over time, she decided to slap the hands of the supernatural across her back.

“I got the back. You know, I’ve been stabbed in the back so many times, I figured if I have God’s hands on my back, go ahead and try to stab me and see what kind of karma you get,” the “Baywatch” star said.

Getting in on the topic, she shared that the backstabbing stemmed from her dating life when asked if she was referring to her personal or professional circle.

The 53-year-old’s previous romantic ordeals include her ex-husband, musician Dave Navarro, whom she married in 2003. The pair, who share no kids, remained married until 2007.

She was first married to NBA star Dennis Rodman from 1998 to 1999 after a whirlwind of romance following her mom’s death. She shared that her deal breakers when dating are simply liars, insisting that she values honesty and enjoys pure love.

“It’s just really nice when you’re with someone who’s just really into you,” she said, adding that although she had experienced this, it didn’t last.

Electra has a soft spot for romance, describing it as a beautiful feeling. She recalled her relationship with Navarro, stating that at the time, she was not romantic, but he taught her how to be.

In the same interview, she revealed that the rockstar had been very intentional with their love life. As per the beauty icon, he always planned special dates on the 10th of every month because that was the date they met.

Being with someone who loves that deeply has a flip side, as the actress revealed that Navarro has set a high bar for other men entering her life.

About three years ago, Electra was photographed looking distraught, hunched over on the stoop of her home. She looked troubled, with her hands over her face and deep breaths. 

Video footage showed that as the actress sat outside in the daylight, she appeared to wipe tears from her eyes. Her rep, however, maintained that she was doing great, though she was probably struggling with a migraine and the scorching sun getting to her eyes.

Photos uploaded to Page Six showed Electra dressed casually in a Guns N’ Roses graphic T-shirt, camouflage cargo pants, and black Adidas sneakers, her hair pulled into a very messy bun. Her face was bare, seemingly without makeup. 

In 2024, while at ’90s Con Florida, Electra shared a snippet of her success story. She revealed the challenges she faced while trying to make a name for herself. The actress was timid at the beginning of her career and had to take time to come out of her shell.

Electra disclosed her family background when sharing that she was homeless upon moving to Los Angeles before meeting people who supported her in several ways. 

The Blast reported that the actress went through a period of insecurity. As a dancer, she often felt lost and insecure about her looks during auditions. Her struggle continued until the legendary Prince discovered her.
