Paris Hilton is offering reassurance about her longtime best friend Britney Spears as fans continue to voice concern over the pop star’s recent behavior and well-being. Hilton has consistently spoken highly of Spears over the years, publicly supporting the singer even as Spears’ own family members have raised alarm over what they’ve described as a devastating personal spiral. The socialite has previously praised Spears for her strength and has shared updates about their lunch and dinner dates in Malibu, proving that the two remain close despite ongoing public scrutiny. Still, fans have continued to express growing concern about Britney Spears’ behavior, particularly through social media, where her posts and public appearances have sparked alarm.

The former “Simple Life” star stepped out at the WWD Style Awards in Santa Monica, California, on Friday night, where she spoke with Daily Mail about how Spears has been doing, and whether the two had recently been in touch. “She’s doing good,” Hilton replied with a smile. “She’s doing really good.”

One particularly troubling incident occurred last October, when the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer was seen swerving her vehicle into the wrong lane after a night out at the upscale Thousand Oaks restaurant Red-O. Disturbing footage and photos from the evening showed Spears behaving erratically inside the eatery.

Witnesses also claimed the singer appeared unsteady on her feet as a female friend held her hand and guided her outside. Despite protestations from several people, including her companion and restaurant staff, Spears ultimately got behind the wheel of her black BMW.

Not long after that incident, a video surfaced showing Spears leaving a wine bar in Los Angeles looking disheveled, with a champagne flute still in her hand. The following month, the singer shared a confusing and emotional social media post reflecting on loss and pain. “Sometimes through suffering and ugliness and sacrifice, extremely rare and beautiful things can be manifested and shared that can touch another person so they understand they are not alone…” she wrote.

The post came after she also wrote that both “sadness and darkness” can “make an understanding of losing someone and of the hurt and pain…”

The latest incidents have prompted many to revisit the chapter of Spears’ life that followed her public breakdown. As fans know, Spears was placed under a conservatorship in February 2008 following a highly publicized breakdown, a legal arrangement that remained in place for nearly 14 years. The conservatorship was largely controlled by her father, Jamie Spears, who maintained significant authority over both her personal life and financial affairs until the arrangement was officially terminated by a judge in November 2021.

In the years since, Spears has spoken openly on Instagram about the alleged abuse she says she endured during the conservatorship, repeatedly criticizing the level of control exercised over her life. The ordeal has also resulted in deep fractures within her family, leaving her estranged from several relatives, including her mother, Lynne Spears, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
