    Julie Chen Mourns ‘Big Brother’ Star Who Died Unexpectedly On Christmas

    “Big Brother” host Julie Chen is mourning the sudden loss of season 27 star Mickey Lee. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Chen, who has hosted the competition series since season 1 aired in 2000, recalled speaking with Lee on an episode of her “God 101” podcast. During the conversation, Chen shared that Lee revealed a saddening truth about her health condition.

    Julie Chen Shares Emotional Tribute Dedicated To ‘Big Brother’ Alum Mickey Lee

    Captioning a photo of herself alongside Lee, who died at age 35, Chen shared that Lee told her she was “born with a hole in her heart” during an earlier episode of her faith-based podcast. Chen also shared that Lee recalled a frightening experience on the podcast that “should have killed her;” however, she miraculously survived.

    “Last night God brought her home,” Chen wrote. “Rest In Peace dear Mickey. I will see you again on the other side in eternity. I pray the good Lord comforts and heals your family and loved ones as we grieve your passing. Amen.”

    ‘Big Brother’ Star Dead After Complications With The Flu

    Lee’s family announced on social media that the reality star, known for her bold personality and stealthy gameplay, had died early on Christmas Day.

    “Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike,” the post’s caption read. “She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”

    ‘Big Brother’ Alum Lee Had A GoFundMe Created

    Elsewhere in the post, Lee’s family thanked those who extended their well-wishes and condolences during “this incredibly difficult time.” They added that the kindness shown toward them hasn’t gone unnoticed.

    “As the family mourns this tremendous loss, they respectfully request privacy during this critical time of bereavement. Details regarding memorial services and arrangements will be shared at a later date. Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten,” they said.

    Days before Christmas, a GoFundMe page dedicated to Lee had been created, revealing that the CBS alum was hospitalized in the ICU after dealing with complications from the flu. The post added that Lee had experienced a “series of cardiac arrests,” leaving her struggling with the financial strain.

    Lee’s ‘BB’ Co-Stars Share Tributes Dedicated To The 35-Year-Old

    Lee’s unexpected passing has sent a wave of sadness over the “Big Brother” community. In addition to Chen’s post, several “BB” alums have also taken to social media to pay their respects to their co-star and reality TV peer.

    Season 27 contestant Jimmy Heagerty uploaded a carousel of images and videos of himself and Lee smiling while looking into the camera. He captioned it, “This is how I’ll remember Mickey: someone who was silly, who smiled and laughed, but importantly, someone who always cared.”

    Heagerty lauded Lee for her ability to light up any room she entered, adding that “losing” her hurts him more than he could’ve imagined. “Mickey, my heart is absolutely broken. During #bb27 you were my first friend, my first #1, and my OG ride or die,” he added. “What we built wasn’t just a game relationship, it was real, and it mattered.”

    ‘BB’ 27 Winner Shares Text Message She Sent To Lee Before Her Passing

    Ashley Hollis, season 27’s winner, was also heartbroken after learning of Lee’s sudden death. In a post online, Hollis shared a screenshot of a text message she sent to Lee, trying to mend the rift they had while in the “Big Brother” house.

    “I wanted to reach out because I honestly didn’t like the way things transpired between us and I did really care about you in the house. I don’t want beef w u and I don’t want the two black girls to be pit against each other. I don’t like that! So I wanted to be the bigger person and reach out to squash the [beef],” the text to Lee read.

    While Hollis never revealed whether Lee texted her back, the reality star explained in a separate post that she shared it after reportedly being slammed by fans regarding her relationship with Lee.

    “I posted that because y’all continue to bash me saying I never liked mickey but that’s a lie….. I had nothing to gain from reaching out to her a few weeks ago, but peace of mind and a hope for rekindling. I can’t believe Mickey is really gone……….,” she wrote.
