For the final time in his illustrious career, John Cena has made his patented run to the ring. Cena’s outstanding WWE career came to an end Saturday with a submission defeat at the hands of the “Ring General” Gunther.

The match capped off an excellent night of matches at “Saturday Night’s Main Event” in Washington, D.C. The matches highlighted some of the young and upcoming talent in the wrestling world, so here are four takeaways from Saturday.

    Oba Femi is the future

Femi, the NXT Champion, opened the show against the current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. In the short 12 minutes of match time between the two, Femi showed the WWE Universe exactly why there is so much hype surrounding him.

He stood toe-to-toe with Rhodes and at times, showed his powerful skill set that was overpowering. His debut on the main roster is only a matter of time away, and it will be a dominant main roster run when it happens.

    Sol Ruca stole the show

Another young and upcoming superstar in Ruca was in action against Bayley. The performance from Ruca in her first main roster match may have very well been the performance of the night.

Her high-flying skillset, combined with her knowledge inside the rings, made for an exciting match. The best move of all, though, was her finishing move, the “Sol Crusher,” which ultimately led to her picking up the win in her debut match.
