50 Cent Trolls Irv Gotti As Stroke Rumors Swirl

50 Cent is no stranger to controversies, and once again, the rapper is under fire for his reaction to the news that music producer Irv Gotti had suffered a stroke.

According to reports, Irv Gotti, the co-founder of record label Murder Inc. Records, had suffered another stroke.

The news comes almost a year after Gotti’s representatives confirmed he suffered a minor stroke due to his struggles with diabetes.

However, Gotti appeared to have recovered, as pictures of him walking with a cane and looking much thinner surfaced months later.

Although Gotti’s representatives or family members haven’t offered any official statement about his prognosis, that didn’t stop 50 Cent from reacting to the news on his Instagram.

The G-Unit boss posted a picture announcing the news that Gotti was on life support and his family members were saying their goodbyes.

In his caption, 50 Cent wrote, “D-mm, I wanted him to see my new shows, yo!”

Fans Criticize 50 Cent For His Insensitive Post

    MEGA

50 Cent’s post trolling Gotti’s state of health has not gone down well with netizens, who are calling out the music mogul for his insensitive post.

Under the Instagram post, a fan questioned why 50 Cent would think it’s okay to joke about life and death, writing, “The good Lord giveth & the good Lord taketh away… @50cent better be careful of the energy you put out into the universe. Might be your turn next.”

Another fan opined, “Honorable people don’t find joy in berating people when they are already doing bad. U gettin’ unfollowed.”

A third person wrote, “Please don’t think you can’t get touched. You’re not invincible, Curtis.”

Meanwhile, some fans pointed to the beef between 50 Cent and Gotti as the reason the rapper reacted that way to the news.

“People seem to forget what happened to 50; people think 50 is just from power. Irv and his team try to kill him or block him from being successful. Just imagine if you was in 50 shoes a lot of ya would do the same 50 doing,” the fan commented.

50 Cent’s Beef History With Irv Gotti

50 Cent’s beef with Gotti dates back to the early 2000s when the rapper and his G-Unit crew started a rivalry with Ja Rule, who was signed to Gotti’s Murder Inc.

The dispute started when Ja Rule was robbed by a member of 50’s G-Unit in Southside Jamaica, Queens, New York.

The incident led to many diss songs, snitch accusations, and physical altercations between the two camps, including a brawl at a nightclub in Atlanta.

However, when 50 Cent was infamously shot nine times in front of his grandmother’s house in May 2000, investigations revealed the involvement of Murder Inc. Records.

According to reports, the attempt was made on 50’s life after he mentioned Gotti’s close friend, Queens drug lord Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff, in the song “Ghetto Qu’ran,” per XXL.

Although nobody from Murder Inc. Records nor McGriff himself was charged with the shooting, that hasn’t stopped tension between the camps from continuing.

50 Has Previously Mocked Irv Gotti

50 Cent’s decision to troll Gotti over his health issues might have shocked many, but this isn’t the first time Gotti will be the subject of the rapper’s jibe.

When Gotti’s mini-stroke was first reported in August 2024, 50 Cent saw it as an opportunity to drag his arch-nemesis.

The rapper uploaded a picture of Gotti walking with a cane and captioned it, “D-mn homie, in high school you was the man homie, WTF happened to you?” per HipHopDx.

The caption was a reference to his song “Wanksta,” an alleged diss record at Ja Rule.

However, 50 didn’t stop there, adding, “I want Irv to get well, [raised eyebrow emoji] so he can have to watch my next wave [wave emoji] LOL.”

The rapper also mocked Gotti after Nelly and Ashanti announced they were expecting a child.

Ashanti, who was once signed to Murder Inc., was involved in a relationship drama with Gotti, whom she called out for insinuating they once dated.

50 saw a chance to drag Gotti by sharing a post that suggested the music label owner was angry at the news.

What Has Irv Gotti Said About His Health Struggles?

During an appearance on the “Drink Champs” podcast I’m 2023, Gotti spoke about his struggles with diabetes, noting, “It’s rampant with Black people. What it does is, it starts deteriorating your body,” per Newsweek.

The music producer also revealed that his diabetes wasn’t under control, explaining that he’d been diagnosed with “diabetes forever.”

Gotti explained that his diabetes condition was hereditary.

“When my [blood sugar] gets too high, shot [of insulin]. It’s reversible, but you gotta change the way you eat,” Gotti said.

However, the label owner strived to change his diet, which he admitted was challenging.

“You know what’s f-ck-d up with diabetes? So anything that you’re gonna like or tastes good, horrible for you … You’re supposed to eat some leaves or some sh-t like that,” he disclosed.
